Terrifyingly Funky

Terrifyingly Funky...

...is an exploration of the interaction between shapes and sounds using equilateral circles, triangles, and squares. Featuring the 2001 opening theme Monster’s Inc. by Randy Newman for the Disney and Pixar film by the same name, this video explores how shapes can move and interact with the funky and jazzy sounds of the song. Following symmetrical and asymmetrical compositions, simple and chaotic beats, and slow to fast paced movements, the shapes in this video take on properties and forms that help show the feeling of the music. Using bright colors and following a rigid structure to the concept evokes the feelings of happiness, excitement, and chaos that Newman offers to the viewer throughout the song. Terrifyingly Funky strives to provide a fun experience while also sparking nostalgia in those who grew up with the 2001 film and soundtrack.
